The Most Intriguing Vehicles Funded In 2024

Whilst the majority of people are interested in the supercars and hypercars that we fund each year, the number of intriguing cars we fund certainly make for some interesting reading. Whilst you may be familiar with the large majority of vehicles we fund you may be surprised to find out some of the more obscure items that passed through the Oracle Finance offices throughout 2024.

To give you some idea of the variety and range of the vehicles we fund we have put together a list of some of the most surprising and intriguing vehicles funded over the past 12 months. From motorhomes, motorbikes and rare classics, to commercial vehicles, rare future classics and alternative vehicles that you may not even realise people require funding for.

Track Ready Cars

There are an abundance of track-ready cars on the market and most are often very rare and sought after models. Each year there are more and more of our customers who fund cars that are either to be used for occasional use around a racing track to hone their driving skills or to add to their collections of unique models. 2024 has been no exception with some notable rare models being funded that are primed and ready for some track action.

2024’s selection of track ready cars that were funded by our customers were some of the most varied yet. Some of the earliest were vintage and very collectable models such as a Cooper-Climax T39 and a Lister Knobbly, some of the finest British racing cars of any era, while more modern British machines such as a Lotus Exige, Noble M12 GTO-3R, four Caterham Seven models and a no holds barred Ultima RS Evo also offered some interesting stories. Not quite for the track but equally collectable and performance minded was a 1989 Audi Quattro in stunning Turbo Red that had recently been subject to a full overhaul, an another pair of rally legends in the form of two Lancia Delta HF Integrale models.

More recent track focused models we funded during 2024 include an exceptional one of just 150 Aston Martin Vantage GT8’s, a one of 300 Jaguar XE Project 8 and the complete trio of a BMW M2 CS, M3 CS and multiple M4 CS models. While if you are looking for something modern that can perform on any terrain imaginable we also funded a exceptional Ariel Nomad.

Motorhomes

At the other end of the scale somewhat are the many motorhomes and campervans that we fund each year. The perfect vehicle to get away from it all whilst enjoying your very own home from home and for many examples, with all the creature comforts and convenience that you enjoy in your own house. With everything from a converted van wheelbase to almost a truck chassis, the range and differentiation between models is a vast as the car world, and the customisation options even more so.

From the largest funded over the past 12 months in the shape of the Carthago Liner-For-Two, a Swift Kon-Tiki Sport 596 and a Roller Team Auto Roller 7 and 707 Motorhome, to the more compact models such as the Dethleffs Alpa A 6820-2, Elddis Sunseeker and Elddis Autoquest as well as a Dreamer Living Van. This as well as numerous Volkswagen Transporter / Multivan models, California and Caravelles, as well as the all-electric ID-Buzz.

Commercial Vehicles

You may not already know that we can also source funding for commercial vehicles, equipment and sometimes even machinery through our extensive panels of lenders. Each year as well as funding vans and pickup trucks for businesses, often a few at the same time, we also fund lorries of all shapes and sizes and for so many multiple uses. The popularity of commercial vehicles is shown by the 33 Ford Ranger models and 45 Ford Transits of all shapes and sizes funded over the past 12 months, with over 100 commercial vans and around 80 pick up trucks funded.

As well as vans and pick up trucks, some of the more notable commercial vehicles funded throughout 2024 include a Mercedes Benz Actros heavy duty truck, a Mercedes Benz Atego, DAF LF and Volvo VL250 rigid body trucks, as well as both DAF and Volvo Road Sweeper trucks. Some of the more unconventional commercial vehicles include a Brian James Race Transporter, a MECALAC TA3H Site Dumper and not one but two separate customers funding a JCB 535V125 Telescopic Handler.

Motorbikes

You may be surprised to know that we can also fund certain types of motorbike and each year provide funding for a handful of fantastic bikes of all shapes and sizes. In the past year we have funded some exceptional performance motorbikes such as the BMW M 1000 RR, a superbike homologated for racing, the impressive Yamaha YXF R1M, and a number of Ducati models bred for the track such as a 1299 Panigale R Final Edition, a Panigale V4 R, a Panigale Speciale and a Streetfighter V4S.

For customers looking for the ultimate adventure we also funded bikes such as a  BMW R 1250 GS Rallye TE and a pair of Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally models. At the other end of the spectrum, our funded motorbikes for 2024 also include an exquisite EGLI Vincent, a powerful Indian Scout Bobber and a range of Harley Davidson models to include a CVO, a Fat Bob 114 and a FLHXS Steet Glide.

Classic Cars

Understandably some of the most interesting funding highlights are the classic car purchases. The passion and enthusiasm from the buyers as well as the stories about why they are buying a particular classic car are always an interesting part of their funding journey. Whether it is their first classic, an addition to a collection or perhaps their first experience of purchasing something at an auction, the fascinating anecdotes are always captivating.

Some of the most iconic classic cars are from Ferrari. A classic Ferrari is something of beauty and passion and any notable car collection should surely include at least one model from the famous prancing horse. This year has been one of the most varied in terms of the different Ferrari models funded, with multiple models of 246 Dino, 308, 328, 348, 355, 412, 456, 575M, Testarossa, FF and GTC4 Lusso being funded by our customers.

Of other iconic classics we also had the pleasure of funding an Aston Martin DB6, a Porsche 912, both a Porsche 356 B T6 and a 356 Roadster, a 911 Carrera RS Tribute, a number of Mercedes Benz SL Pagoda models, a Lamborghini Countach 50th Anniversary, an immaculate fully restored 1973 Ford Escort RS2000 purchased at auction, and no fewer than 6 Jaguar E-Type models, including one that was on show at 2024’s Salon Prive Concours Masters at Blenheim Palace.

Some of the more rare classic cars included a Jaguar SS 100 as well as a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud and Silver Dawn. Funding highlights also included a trio of Austin Healey models and a trio of Morgan vehicles, a very early Land Rover 88″, a Triumph TR5, an Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV SE and Alfa Romeo GT Junior. Perhaps one of the rarest model funded in 2024 was a Facel Vega, a French automobile company that made just 2,900 hand-built vehicles over its 25 year history.

Future Classics

Future classics are something that everyone can appreciate whatever your age. Cars that you might have had on your wall when you were younger or have always dreamed of owning are becoming classics in their own right and often appreciating in value at the same time. Some may even be that sought after or rare despite being relatively new that they are almost assured future classic status.

One of the most stylish cars of recent years funded during 2024 was the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider, a stunning Italian creation from the mid-2000’s built in limited numbers of just 500 cars. Speaking of stylish coupes, a model that has seen considerable growth in value over the past few years also funded over the past 12 months is the 991 generation of Porsche 911 Speedster. Then there was the legendary Honda NSX, Japan’s answer to the Ferrari’s of the era and a car famously developed by Ayton Senna himself.

If rarity and exclusivity defines a future classic, especially amongst one of the most iconic sports cars of all time, the 997 generation of Porsche 911 Sport Classic is one of the most sought after of all 911’s. With just 250 built, it is always a privilege to get the opportunity to fund something so special. At the same time seeing our happy customer collect their 992 generation 911 Sport classic was also a highlight of 2024.

From Across The Pond

As well as the supercars and sports cars that catch our attention throughout the year, the range of American muscle and classics are always some of the most interesting vehicles we fund. This year was no exception.

Perhaps one of the most heart warming stories was that of our customer who’s detailing business had fastidiously looked after an exquisite 1950’s Ford F-100 Pick-Up Truck since it had been imported into the UK. Then when it was offered up for sale by the owner he obviously jumped at the chance to purchase such a pristine example of the quintessential American icon.

Speaking of American icons, we also funded a number of Chevrolet Corvette models throughout 2024. From the latest iteration to bear the legendary Stingray badge to a previous 2015 generation and a few 1970’s C2 classics. The Corvette is arguably the most iconic American sports car of all time, whether it is the latest generation or any of the previous versions.

As well as icons from Chevrolet we also funded an exceptional 1960’s Ford Galaxy and although it may have been a recreation rather than an ‘original’, the legendary silhouette remains on the DAX Tojeiro funded by one of our customers in 2024.

Alternative

As well as the thousands of vehicles we fund over the course of 12 months, there are also some more obscure items that we sourced funding for throughout 2024. Together with the commercial vehicles mentioned above, there are a number of funding opportunities that are a bit more alternative.

For those with quite a substantial garden to keep on top of, what better way to keep it looking its best than by funding a John Deere 1026R Compact Utility Tractor. It may be smaller than the average John Deere product but there’s no denying its capability at keeping your lawn looking its best.

For really obscure funding products throughout 2024 look no further than a Vogele 1303-3i Asphalt Paver, not something you see every day, just like the Albach Diamant Chipping Machine that we also funded over the past 12 months. There was even a piece of heavy machinery in the shape of a Komatsu d61PX-24 Dozer, or mid-size caterpillar tracked bulldozer to those not familiar with their earthmoving model numbers.
