Silverstone Auctions Race Retro Sale – Ferrari 430 Scuderia
The start of a new year brings the chance to look forward to a whole new calendar of car events for 2023. Our partnership with Silverstone Auctions as their official finance partner means that we have a whole year of auction sales to get excited about, and the incredible vehicles that will be going under the hammer. The first of their upcoming sales is the Race Retro Classic and Competition Car sale on 25th February at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, and quite a few of the consignments have already caught our eye as some very special cars. In the leadup to the sale, we will be looking at some of the cars that we can’t wait to see at the sale and that we are highlighting for our existing and potential customers should you wish to arrange auction car finance for in the run up to the sale.
2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
The first of the cars that caught our eye is something very special indeed, a 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia, but not just any 430 Scuderia. What makes this car different to any other Scuderia is that fact that is not only unregistered, but it has covered just 70 miles since new and is offered in as new condition. An effectively brand-new Ferrari 430 Scuderia certainly not raced or rallied or even driven more than a few miles, and you get to be the first and only name on the registration document.
The appeal and rarity of the opportunity continues to add appeal with every detail. This particular example is one of just 279 cars that were produced in right hand drive and has been dry stored in a humidity-controlled facility since it was purchased in 2009. Ordered from new and delivered to Hong Kong, the metric instrumentation is the only difference to a UK specification car.
The 430 Scuderia took the performance and handling of the ‘standard’ F430 to the next level. With 503bhp from the race-derived 4.3 litre V8 engine, as well as being over 100kg lighter, the 430 Scuderia was extensively developed and tested by the great Michael Schumacher to ensure the handling and performance matched his exacting standards around a racetrack.
Finished in stunning Bianco Avus with Nero Alcantara interior, the extensive list of factory options would usually be enough to make this car a special example on their own, regardless of the mileage and condition. It of course also comes with the original Ferrari book pack, original purchase documentation, spare key, Ferrari tool kit, tyre inflator and Ferrari car cover.
This car has been granted a temporary admission to be imported to the UK for the sale, ready to be registered to the lucky purchaser of this unique opportunity. To find a low mileage, un-tracked, pristine condition F430 Scuderia, and one that the current owner is willing to sell, is a difficult task in itself, but to find one that is practically brand new and appears fresh off the production line is something you aren’t likely to get the opportunity to see again.
The guide price for the auction is £150k-£180k, which compared to other Scuderia examples currently on the market, seems like it could be surpassed once bidding gets underway. With some of the record auction prices achieved at Silverstone Auction sales in 2022 for low mileage cars, we wouldn’t be surprised to see this 430 achieve a similar outcome at the Race Retro sale come the 25th February.
