Oracle Finance August Roundup

August is a time when most people are jetting off on holidays, most children are enjoying the whole month off school and the weather is supposed to be at its best for the year. While a lot of businesses wind down for the summer, it has been quite the month for us here at Oracle Finance.

From the vehicles we are funding for our customers to the events that we have been a part of and the partnerships that we are involved in, August has certainly been a busy time at Oracle Finance with definitely no sign of a summer break.

With so much going on we thought we’d give you a recap of the goings on at Oracle HQ.

Funding Statistics

With many car manufacturers employing a summer shutdown, especially in continental Europe, and the number of people who are enjoying a break in the sunshine, you would think that our customers would delay buying their next purchases for when they return. But year after year that definitely isn’t the case.

A quick summary of the statistics looks like this:

  • Almost 400 cars funded in August alone and a total finance value nearing £19m.
  • Of those vehicles funded, 93.8% of those were purely combustion engine powered, with roughly an 80/20 split in favour of petrol vs diesel.
This left 4.6% as fully electric vehicles and 1.6% hybrid vehicles, although some of these hybrid vehicles were not the eco-friendly type you might imagine, but rather supercars such as Ferrari 296’s, a McLaren Artura and a Lamborghini Revuelto.

  • Our most popular manufacturer funded throughout the month of August was Porsche yet again, with 66 models funded, 32 of those also being our historically most popular model funded; the 911.
Land Rover was closely behind with 60 models funded, of those 35 were Range Rover, Range Rover Sport or Range Rover Velar iterations of some sort.
Of the popular performance models we fund week in week out there were 18 BMW M Cars, 20 Mercedes AMG cars and 13 Audi RS models funded last month.
  • Over 10% of all cars funded during August were supercars, 43 in total, with 15 Ferrari models, 13 Lamborghini models & 3 McLaren models.
Premium luxury brands featured highly with 13 Aston Martin models, 7 Rolls Royce models and 3 Bentley models also funded.
  • Classics and future classics were well catered for thanks to the favourable weather this time of year, with models such as a Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary, a first generation Honda NSX, a pair of Ferrari 328 Targa models and a 348, an Audi Quattro, an Austin Healey, a Morgan and a 1950’s Ford F1 100 vintage pick-up truck all funded last month.
  • Despite it being summer, SUV’s were as popular as ever with 44% of all cars funded being an SUV, controversially including the Ferrari Purosangue in that category too.
With the summer sun making an appearance it also spurred on the purchasing of convertibles, with more than one convertible, cabriolet, spyder, Targa or roadster funded each and every day for the whole month.

Martin House Children’s Hospice

August was a time for celebration as we were extremely proud to announce that we surpassed £50,000 of funds raised for our charity partner Martin House Children’s Hospice. The Yorkshire based charity provide invaluable support for sick children and their families and we are thrilled that are fund raising efforts continue to help them help so many in need.

This is especially important now as they embark on their most ambitious project yet, the Big Build, to extend and improve their current facilities in order to help even more people than ever. They still have a long way to go but every penny counts and their determination for this ambitious project is certainly awe inspiring.

Events

Salon Privé

The end of August saw Oracle Finance become a sponsor once again for one of the most illustrious events in the automotive calendar anywhere in the world, the exquisite Salon Privé. Taking place amongst the grandeur of Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, Salon Privé is seen as the ultimate end of summer automotive event and a celebration of all things from supercars and hypercars to rare and sought after classics and everything in between.

For 2024, this year the event introduced the inaugural Concours Masters trophy, a celebration of all things supercars and sports cars from yesteryear right up to present day. Oracle Finance were proud to sponsor this year’s Concours Masters trophy and be present to award the class winners and overall winner with their well deserved Prix d’Honneur coveted trophy for Best In Show.

The Motorist

Bank Holiday events at Oracle Finance partners The Motorist are always a very well attended occasion and this year’s August Bank Holiday Supercar meet with Oracle Car Finance was certainly no exception. Showcasing not just some of the finest supercars and sports cars money can buy but also classic cars, interesting vehicles and of course their enthusiastic owners, the event was the perfect way to spend the extended weekend and, unlike a usual August Bank Holiday, the glorious weather that arrived too.

Oracle Finance staff were on hand to offer the VIP experience to select supercar owners, members of partners Porsche Club GB and of course discuss anything car finance related with attendees. The event was also a chance for us to raise additional funds for partners Martin House Children’s Hospice, a fundraising effort that actually took us over the £50,000 landmark total we have raised for the charity.
